HLIS is located on a nine-acre property that includes classrooms, administrative facilities, faculty housing, dormitories, a dining hall, and a large sports field.
In late 2018 and early 2019, the school experienced several devastating fires but, under the leadership of Governor Sir Peter Ipatas, five new buildings have been constructed and were opened on September 18, 2020. Among those new buildings are a new administration building, a new 8 in 1 primary school building, a new female dormitory and a new 3 in 1 science laboratory for high school students.
